The Society of St. Vincent de Paul relies on volunteers to fulfill the mission each year. The life of our organization, volunteers enable us to provide our wide range of services and programs, and serve 1000s of needy families each year.

Our various projects offer fun and unique ways for individuals and groups of all kinds to become a volunteer and contribute their time, talents and resources.  Thank you for your desire to aid us in our mission to empower people, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or faith, to achieve self-sufficiency by offering financial, material, educational, and spiritual support and by collaborating with others to develop and deliver programs and services that help those in need.

Ways to Volunteer: 

Thrift Store: The SVDPS Thrift Store is a lively place where many donations flow in and out daily. From sorting donations to organizing merchandise and assisting customers, there are endless opportunities to make a difference at the Thrift Store. Flexible shifts are available to accommodate your schedule. Sign up here to volunteer!

Care Van: Be a part of our Care Van program, providing essential medical transportation to and from Matthew 25 for those in need. If you're interested in volunteering as a driver for our handicap accessible Care Van, please call 260-456-3561.

Wood Shop: Utilize your carpentry skills to give back through our Wood Shop located at the SVDPS Thrift Store. Whether you're an experienced carpenter or looking to learn a new skill, we welcome your assistance in crafting furniture for those in need. Call 260-456-3561 to get involved.

Food Pantries: The Fort Wayne SVDPS has 12 food programs within our district that range in services from volunteering at a food pantry, delivering food to those who are unable to get it themselves, cooking a weekly meal for those in need and more. Your support is invaluable, if you are interested in assisting one of our food programs or would like to learn more, please call 260-456-3561.

Carpenter’s Sons: Join our Carpenter’s Sons program in providing crucial home repairs and construction projects to homeowners in need. From building and installing ramps to addressing other vital needs within the community, your carpentry skills can truly make a difference. Interested in joining or learning a new skill?
